Many women I see in their 40s and 50s start conversations with something like this:
“I don’t understand what’s going on. I’ve always been active, I look after myself… and yet my body just doesn’t feel the same.”
The pain isn’t dramatic. There’s no obvious injury. It’s more of a background issue. But its frustrating and often unsettling. Why?
Labour is one of the most physically and emotionally significant events your body will ever experience. While it’s impossible to predict exactly how your birth story will unfold, there’s a great deal you can do to support your body in the weeks leading up to it.
When you hear the phrase resistance training, do you picture heavy barbells, sweaty gyms, or bodybuilders lifting colossal weights? The reality is much simpler — and much more relevant to women’s health than most realise.
Many women approaching their late 40s or early 50s notice new aches and stiffness in joints that previously felt perfectly healthy. If you’re experiencing this, perimenopause or menopause may be a factor, and understanding what’s happening can make a real difference in how you manage it.
In recent years, vaginal probiotics have gained popularity as a potential solution for women experiencing recurrent infections, discomfort, or changes due to menopause. But do they actually work?
Hands up who wants to chat about what’s going on down there! No one right. But you could be sitting on (literally!) a pelvic organ prolapse (POP) without knowing it. Pelvic organ prolapses are really common! About 50% of women have one, but only 3% have symptoms. Unfortunately, when you have one it can progress to be symptomatic, so like everything it’s best to know as early as possible so you can get some help.
